DAR Monthly Meeting in Sheraton Old Town Inn May 23

The Colonel Edward Lacey Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at noon in the Kachina Room of the Sheraton Old Town Inn at 800 Rio Grande Blvd NW on Friday May 23 1975. Organizing regent Mrs Llewellyn T Boatwright will preside with Mrs Robert Seymour and Mrs Olden Lee Burchett in charge of arrangements. Guest speaker Robert Stevens will discuss Lineage Research.

Fiesta Queen crowned Christine Gutierrez of Corrales

Christine Gutierrez of Corrales was crowned Fiesta de San Ysidro Queen, daughter of Adonay and, Corrales. First runner up Georgia Archibeque. second runner up Theresa Griego. Gutierrez, a Cibola High junior, plans beauty school after graduation and enjoys dancing and children. Other candidates included Melony Warrick, Felicia Warrick, Marty Rhoades, and Julie Sanchez.

1976 NARFE State Convention in Rio Rancho May 6 8

The 1976 State Convention of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees will be held in Rio Rancho on May 6 to 8 with John F. McClelland as principal speaker. Local committees, co chairs, and banquet and publicity roles are named. Chapter 1381 attended last year in Albuquerque and added seven new members.

Land sales resume at Rio Rancho and Paradise Hills

AMREP Corporation President Howard Friedman announced resumption of land sales at Rio Rancho after the Office of Interstate Land Sales lifted a suspension following revision of its property report. Horizon Corporation will file a new amendment and offer refunds, while AMREP remains not required to offer refunds.

Martinez returns from policy seminar in Phoenix

Corrales Village Councilman Horacio Martinez has returned from a three day Policy Leaders Seminar in Phoenix Arizona. Sponsored by the National League of Cities and Municipal Leagues the event drew city council members. Martinez called it extremely worthwhile and said it will help him be a better more effective councilman and he hopes to attend next year in Denver.
