First State Bank names new president in Rio Rancho
Dennis C. Chavez named president of First State Bank of Rio Rancho by Kenneth Bonnell chairing the board. Chavez, formerly senior vice president, succeeds Paul Creek who resigned. John R. Kennedy named vice-president cashier to head commercial loans and serve as operations officer. Chavez began with Securitys family in 1966 in Vaughn.

Four Corners Grants Paradise Hills Pool Reinstated
The Four Corners Regional Commission reverses course and restores a $50,000 grant to Bernalillo County for a Paradise Hills swimming pool. The project, originally funded in December 1974 and revoked in March, will be financed by the commission, county funds, and the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation. The pool sits on land donated by Horizon Corporation and plans include bussing county children to the facility in summer.
