The Sandoval County Commission authorized a pact with the National Association of Counties to join the NACO Prescription Discount Card Program with CVS Caremark. The discount card offers about 24 percent savings on non insured medications at participating pharmacies including CVS Walgreens Smiths and Albertsons. The program is optional and does not constitute insurance, and a countywide rollout will inform residents. The meeting also approved joining the Stepping Up initiative to cut the number of mentally ill individuals held in custody.
