DWI arrests and roadblock plan reported in Rio Rancho

A Rio Rancho patrol log details multiple incidents from April including David Reynolds arrested for DWI after a 2:25 a.m. stop on Southern Boulevard and Trevino Drive. A gas line was damaged by a Vancouver resident digging a trench. A Meadowlark Court resident reported a backpack grab near a school bus stop. Additional incidents include speeding, a broken sliding glass window, chest pain, a seizure, a suspended license arrest, a DWI roadblock planned for NM 528 at 11 p.m. tomorrow with every tenth car stopped and public safety remarks from Lt. Mike Baker referencing fatalities from drinking and driving.

DPS Log Reports Multiple Incidents At Rio Rancho And Alameda

A 32-year-old woman was taken to Presbyterian Hospital after her vehicle flipped. burglaries reported on Country Club Drive and Epic Court with minor losses. Lorraine Alcantar 22 of Albuquerque arrested for DUI and related charges at Rio Rancho Shopping Center. Multiple property damages and a juvenile incident at Ideal Bowling Lanes. A 16-year-old was found dead in a car in a closed garage. A 64-year-old woman collapsed at St Joseph West Mesa Hospital and another arrestee was found near Pine Drive.

Rio Rancho DPS promotes four and hires five new drivers

The Rio Rancho Department of Public Safety announced promotions for Don Evans to lieutenant, Michael Chinigo to detective, and Martin Vigil to sergeant. Four new DPS drivers were hired, including Carleen Vincent, David Gentry, Jeff Anderson, and Jackie Barron, all EMT certified with notable firefighting training. Five juveniles were apprehended for a burglary on 32nd Circle, with most stolen goods recovered. Municipal Court collected 1690 in fines and sentenced several individuals for driving while intoxicated and related offenses.

DPS targets vacant lot car sales in city crackdown

Public Safety announced a strict enforcement of a newly passed city ordinance prohibiting owner sale of vehicles on vacant lots within city limits. Vehicles may be towed after a warning. offenders face fines up to 300 dollars and up to 90 days in jail.

Burglary hits Carlson Heating trucks at West NE site

Burglars broke into Carlson Heating and Air Conditioning trucks at 6805 Academy Park Way West NE on February 18, 1987 between 2:00 and 4:30 am. Equipment valued at about $2,000 was stolen along with a company truck later found abandoned near Rochel and the railroad tracks. Total loss estimated at $6,000. Crime Stoppers offers up to $1,000 for information leading to arrests with rewards for anonymous tips to 843 STOP.
