Bullis Discusses New Mexico History and Future Projects

A long interview with historian Bullis covers his vast knowledge of New Mexico figures including Elfego Baca, his two state biographical dictionaries, and about 1,500 names. He recalls starting in 1967 with ENMU student journalism, editing New Mexico Motorist, and living at Laguna Pueblo. He plans a calendar based chronology of 2,000+ entries, may write on Western films, cites Lonesome Dove and The Wild Bunch as favorites, and notes awards such as the Eric Hoffer Award and being a Centennial Author. He emphasizes writing for love, not money, and outlines three April book signings in Farmington, Old Town, and Los Lunas.
