Bruere Eyes NAU Visit After Butler JC Commit

Rio Rancho High School senior quarterback Easton Bruere, who pledged to play for Butler Junior College next season, visits Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Bruere’s father Carl notes he could start for the Lumberjacks for up to three seasons as NAU competes in the Big Sky.

Tennis for blue hairs Super Senior Tennis opens for 60 plus

The program begins April 6 with six weeks of one hour lessons twice weekly, followed by six weeks of round robin play at various sites. Rams edge Ravens in sloppy home opener after Haase tribute

Rio Rancho High School baseball won 2-1 over Rio Grande in a tense contest paced by 90-pitch starter Matt Sanchez. Wyatt Kelley drove in the winning run with a fourth inning single as RRHS improves to 5-2 while dedicating the 2015 season to fallen officer Anthony Haase and honoring his memory with a retiring of his number and a banner.

Hare leads scoring in Santa Fe Scratch Classic at Tenpins & More

Brian Hare topped scoring averages with 231 per 69 games and 478.5 points as the Santa Fe Mazda Volvo Scratch Classic moved under testing lane conditions. Lance Emerson, Shauna Shannon and others posted high averages, with championship semifinals set for May 25 televised live. Rams and Storm open season with decisive softball wins

Cleveland High scored nine runs in a quick mercy-rule victory over visiting Los Alamos as 14 batters came to the plate in the first inning. The Storm routed Hilltoppers 16-1 in four innings, with Hannah Obrey and Nicole Medina getting three hits each and Adrianna Castillo in the circle. Rio Rancho also won 8-4 at Valencia as Breonna Castaneda, Vanessa Gallegos and Jordan Manno homered for the Rams.
