Bernalillo Firefighters Rescue Dog Amid Roof Blaze
Bernalillo and Sandoval County crews responded to a Sunday morning house fire on Calle Placitas in downtown Bernalillo. Heavy smoke and flames issued from the roof at about 9:30 a.m. Residents evacuated. a Chihuahua trapped near the back of the house was rescued. Fire confined to crawl space and roof, sparing most of the home. Firefighter Andrew Chavez and Sandoval County Assistant Fire Chief Brian Culp were pictured using a piercing nozzle to access the fire.
