City council weighs utility reconnection fee relief and park zoning
City officials plan to reduce the impact of reconnection fees on financially strained residents by using utility funds to cover an estimated 160 thousand dollars revenue drop next fiscal year. The council also approved a business park zoning designation and a 30 thousand dollar noise-buffer wall on Camino Encantadas to shield homes from traffic noise. A July 8 date was set to revisit a contract with Operations Management International. The panel capped next year’s general fund transfers from traffic enforcement at 190 thousand dollars and discussed ICMA Insights program adoption with a seven thousand dollar set aside.
