Waste Management hosts free picnic and landfill tour
Waste Management invites Rio Rancho residents to a free community picnic and open house at High Range Park. The event runs Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with recycling games, a landfill bus tour, a photo op in a recycle truck, barbecue, ice cream treats, giveaways, and a last tour bus at 12:30 p.m. Also offered is a seven week Savvy Caregiver Program for Alzheimer's care along with a free business forum on June 16 at Rio Rancho City Hall, hosted by local agencies.

Permanent memorial exhibit honors Sandoval veterans on holiday weekend
Sandoval County officials and historians unveiled a permanent display in the county building atrium to honor over 5,700 veterans and 1,500 photos from conflicts ranging from the Indian Wars to Vietnam. Indicted Rio Rancho substitute teacher faces fourth degree felony
