State Summer Games showcase Special Olympics in Albuquerque
Nearly 1,000 athletes competed at UNM track and field for the State Summer Games while Sandia Prep hosted unified volleyball. Delta Dental sponsored seven thousand eight hundred dollars to Special Smiles for oral health screenings. Rio Rancho Rockets joined the Unified Relay Across America with two teams carrying the Flame of Hope for the World Games, including a July 1 one mile leg near Ellison and Alameda. As of Tuesday, Rockets stood as the Albuquerque metro area’s lone Flame of Hope delegation.

Tenpins & More to host big fundraiser bowlathon Saturday
The seventh annual ARCA bow lathon at Tenpins & More attracts 300 bowlers in 48 teams from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a silent auction and lunch for 450. Mayors on Strike for ARCA begins at noon, pledging 1000 per strike up to 15000, led by Rio Rancho Mayor Gregg Hull and eight neighboring leaders. The event aims to exceed 100000 dollars, building on over 500000 raised previously.
