Rams Stars Sweep All-USA New Mexico Honors
Wyatt Kelley and Eddy Vasquez earned first team All-USA New Mexico baseball honors with senior status. Eldorado coach Jim Johns was named Coach of the Year. Jared Mang earned Player of the Year honors after a 7-1 season with a 0.80 ERA. Josh Walker posted a 4-1 start for Delmarva Shorebirds in the SAL. The Shorebirds sat 33-35 in the first half, 10-9 second-half in the SAL. An alumni game is set for Aug 1 at 8:30 a.m. on the school soccer field.

Rio Rancho approves random drug testing for athletes
Rio Rancho Public Schools will implement a pilot random drug testing policy for high school student athletes starting 2015-16, with testing for alcohol marijuana opiates cocaine amphetamines methadone and barbiturates. A 12 member athletic council helped craft the policy, to be run by a testing company on school days, with results within two days and suspensions for positive tests.
