Heaps Up Heaps Up hosts Sunday in the Village today from 11 am to 5 pm to showcase Corrales attractions. The event features unique shops art galleries wellness centers spas B and Bs wineries restaurants Grower’s Market and museums. A July 2 1997 report notes Rio Rancho residents opposing a Sun Tran bus stop move that would place the stop outside city limits. Organizers circulate a petition to halt the relocation and preserve the current service area.
Duke Stripling failed to qualify for a recall petition after his signature did not match his voter registration name and seven of twelve signatures were disqualified. AWE's recall effort, led by Jim Blaszkowski, filed shortly after, backing Mayor Kevin Jackson with 21 signatures and one more added, citing broader environmental and governance concerns.

Rio Rancho adds a second contracted postal unit at ABC Glass on Golf Course Road, joining Rio Rancho Printing near NM 528. The station offers most postal services except money orders, Selective Service, passports, and incoming mail, with staff operated by USPS contractors. The Rio Rancho City Council, citing past censure and budget suspension of Mayor Kevin Jackson, votes unanimously to set a July 20 public hearing and authorize a subpoena to compel his appearance. Only one councilor spoke to the issues during Wednesday’s meeting as others pressed procedural questions.
