Duke Stripling filed the initial recall petition against Rio Rancho Mayor Kevin Jackson early yesterday morning. Deputy City Clerk Rebecca Martinez noted signatures must be verified voters and the petition approved before collection of 2 038 five percent of registered voters within 60 days. Martinez estimated about 45 percent extra signatures will be needed.
