USA Roller Sports National Championships Return to Albuquerque

USA Roller Sports brings the United States National Championships to Albuquerque through August 1 at the Albuquerque Convention Center. More than 2,000 skaters from across the country will compete for national titles in speed, rink hockey and figure skating, following regional qualifiers. Ongoing Pueblo Byways featuring Dorothy Dunn collection watercolors from the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in Santa Fe is viewable again at Coronado Historic Site after a construction project. Alan Yablonsky Art Exhibit at Placitas Library

An exhibit of Alan Yablonsky’s artwork runs at Placitas Community Library through July 31. A lifelong artist and educator, he worked in oils, acrylics, watercolors, graphite and more, taught across schools and colleges, and focused on regional pastel landscapes in New Mexico. His work was featured in April 2004 New Mexico Magazine. The library sits five miles east of I-25 on NM 165.

Rock with Wings Reading by Anne Hillerman at Placitas Library

Placitas Community Library hosts Anne Hillerman in a reading from Rock with Wings, her second Chee/Leaphorn novel, in the Collin Meeting Room at 2 p.m. on Saturday July 18. She coauthored with Don Strel on a reissue of The Great Taos Bank Robbery, with UNM Press. Hillerman has long worked as a journalist and arts editor in New Mexico. The tenth annual Mayor's Sunday is Friday returns Friday August 16 from noon to 4 PM at Haynes Park.
