Cristina's Closet aids homeless veterans with free outfits
Cristina Johnson, a homeless veteran turned organizer in Rio Rancho, runs Cristina's Closet a nonprofit boutique offering free haircuts and designer clothes to job seeking veterans. The shop uses vetted client intake and fittings and plans two weeks of work outfits after employment. Johnson, who once lived in a car after military service, started the effort two years ago after her fiancé died. The project has gained donations and aims for a retail space within two months with online donation channels via Facebook and a dedicated site.
