Shoot Out at Territorial House in Corrales 1898
Corrales lore recounts a fatal April 30 1898 shooting at or near the Territorial House restaurant and saloon. Luis Emberto shot Louisa Griego, then faced Sheriff Tom Hubbel and a Navajo marksman before being killed. The couple were buried behind the Territorial House in unmarked graves, and Emberto later became a Columbia professor.
