Reburial of Anasazi remains by AMREP at Corrales North
AMREP officials and archaeologists, with the local pueblos, oversaw the reburial of three adult Anasazi remains and two child remains with grave offerings in the Corrales North subdivision at the NM 528 NM 46 intersection. The bodies were removed in 1986 by Albert Ward. Area pueblo descendants welcomed the action as meeting a condition of a proposed federal agreement. AMREP has rejected the agreement citing financial hardship. EPA has not commented.

Indictment in Rio Rancho rape case charges Burden
A grand jury in Sandoval County indicted 31 year old Brian H. Burden of 13 Via Jorge on counts including criminal sexual penetration aggravated burglary extortion false imprisonment and related crimes in a Dec 17 assault in Cedar Hills Rio Rancho. Burden remains jailed on 50000 bond as District Court Judge Kenneth G Brown handles the case. Investigators said the arrest stemmed from a two week probe with Rio Rancho DPS and FBI agents after the victim a 21 year old Hispanic woman identified Burden from a photo. A search warrant was executed at his home and evidence gathered by officers and FBI agents.
