RRHS Baseball Camp Returns With U S Baseball Academy

RRHS hosts a four week baseball camp starting February directed by Rams head coach Ron Murphy in partnership with U S Baseball Academy. Classes for grades 1 through 12 limited to six players per coach cover advanced hitting pitching catching fielding and base running. Semper Fidelis All American Bowl rosters announced

The 2016 Semper Fidelis All American Bowl will feature over 90 top recruits split into Team Fast and Team West, with the event set for Sunday Jan 3 at 7 p.m. at StubHub Center Carson and televised on FOX Sports. Storm senior Henry Hattis joins the West roster amid showcases of Marine Corps values. Georgia Tech adds transfer Desmond Branch, a 6-3 270 defensive end, who redshirted at New Mexico in 2014 and starred at Trinity Valley CC this season. Branch, likely the first Yellow Jacket from New Mexico, is eligible to play with three years remaining.

Throw Cancer a Curve fundraiser at Albuquerque academy hits Sunday

Albuquerque Baseball Academy at 4210 Hawkins NE hosts Throw Cancer a Curve on Sunday January 10 from noon to 4 pm. The $100 entry supports the Justin Solomon Foundation the Martin Romero Scholarship Fund and Faith Kuhn. Solomon from Farmington survived cancer and kidney transplant. Romero a Rio Grande High School athlete died from brain cancer.

Rams head to Jalene Berger Holiday Hoops Classic opener

The Jalene Berger Holiday Hoops Classic begins Monday at 1 PM in the Rams Athletic Center Rio Rancho High School with seven New Mexico teams including host Rio Rancho and El Paso Socorro in the field. The Rams, led by Wally Salata, aim to defend their title as the nine edition tournament kicks off with four games.

Cleveland Storm two hoops teams prep for busy schedule

Cleveland High School's Storm boys and girls teams stay active with winter tournaments and upcoming APS Metro Championships. The boys head to the MaxPreps Holiday Classic in California, facing Thousand Oaks Beckman Shadow Hills and other strong foes, while the girls head to Las Cruces for the Holiday Hoopla. The Storm host and travel amid strong showings and coaching comments on learning to win. The APS Metro Championships run January 5–9 with Cleveland, Rio Rancho, and other Albuquerque schools vying for titles.
