Ultralight crash injures Rio Rancho man at golf course
William K. Walthers, 60, of 3604 32nd Circle, piloting a single seat ultralight, spun and crashed near the ninth hole of a Rio Rancho golf course. He was treated at St. Joseph Hospital in Albuquerque in fair, stable condition for leg and back injuries. The crash occurred about 9:20 a.m. as witnesses described a nosedive from about 1000 feet.

A 30 year old Albuquerque woman Lay Barbara McDonald died and Rio Rancho man Mark A. Kleitch was injured in a one vehicle crash on NM 528 near Cibola High School shortly after 2 a.m. Thanksgiving. Police said the pickup sped, veered off, struck a traffic signal pole, and split into three pieces. Kleitch had a blood alcohol content of 0.215.
