New Mexico Stars Return in 2016 in New League

After a 2015 hiatus the New Mexico Stars are revived for 2016 in the North American Indoor Football League with Farasi Norman as coach and home games at Santa Ana Star Center. Former Stars players, now Duke City Gladiators, play in Albuquerque’s Tingley Coliseum in the Champions Indoor Football League. City leaders tout a family entertainment focus while planning marketing and sponsorship efforts to support two indoor teams. Tickets run 15 or 22 dollars, with a season opener in March and a 2017 aim for a New Mexico Black Widows women's team.
