Frankfort Gunman Escapes During Darkness
John Wallis, a Frankfort grocer, fired on six people while resisting arrest in an altercation between Fallis’ son and a policeman. He escaped overnight from a barricaded grocery dwelling as deputies and state rifles surrounded the scene. The house was fired upon and gutted as a manhunt extended across a wide area. Noonan and two bystanders were lightly wounded by buckshot. Deputies, armed and massed, pressed the search under Sheriff Bain Moore.

Whisky thieves raid Old Ripy Distilleries warehouse
In Lawrenceburg Kentucky on June 16 whisky thieves overpowered and bound guards John Cummings Sandy Roberts and Jim Bond at the Old Ripy Distilleries and Warehouse Company four miles east of town. They used three touring cars and two trucks to haul away 289 cases of liquor after disarming guards and cutting telephone wires.

Greek Bridge Wreck Kills Five, Injures Thirty Four Near Whitney
A Chicago and Northwestern passenger train en route from Lander Wyoming to Omaha crashed when a bridge over a creek near Whitney Nebraska collapsed as the engine left the bridge. Well Known Colored Man Walter Miller Ends His Life
Coroner E H Muney investigated the death of Walter Miller a respected colored citizen who died by self inflicted gunshot in his room near Lockerd. Neighbors heard three shots with two entering the ceiling before Miller placed the gun to his mouth causing a fatal head wound. He was about 48, leaves a son and daughter in Cincinnati, and had recent odd jobs and grocery/meat market work. Notes stated financial hardship and discouragement as motives. Burial planned in the colored cemetery.
