Sab Progress Follows Plan at Richmond College

After a month and a half work on the new student activities building is progressing as scheduled. Ground was broken July 27, 1950 for a $275 000 four story Collegiate Gothic structure by A H Ewing's Sons Inc in the ravine between the Administration Building and the dormitories.

Student Killed in Route 1 Head-On Crash Near Richmond

George J. DeHardit, 26, a T C Williams Law School student from the University of Richmond, died after his car collided head on with another in rural U S Route 1 eight miles north of Richmond. His mother Mary DeHardit and a family servant perished. sister Barbara was injured but listed as satisfactory. Surviving family includes father Joseph DeHardit.

Dr. Marguerite Roberts, dean of Westhampton College and Hardy scholar, published Tess in the Theatre after researching unpublished Hardy manuscripts and letters. She pursued her M A at Radcliffe and studied at Harvard, meeting Mrs Hardy at Max Gate and copying letters for a 500 page thesis on Hardy and the Theatre.
