Two Actors Tie Karn Top Awards at Speech and Dramatic Arts
The second annual Speech and Dramatic Arts awards in the Student Center Lounge honored Jim Jonze and Gene Snow as Best Actor for performances this year. Jontz from Memphis starred as Fagan in Oliver and played Henry VIII in A Man for All Seasons. Snow from Richmond portrayed Sir Thomas More and appeared in Six Characters in Search of an Author. Additional honors went to Martha Rothenberg Heat Actress Ben Appleton Best Supporting Actor Sally Andrews Best Supporting Actress. Rothenberg appeared in Oliver and Six Characters. Andrews played Mrs Bumble. Appleton played Cromwell.

A 7:30 am breakfast at Holiday Inn West precedes activities on Ryland Hall lawn and Keller Mall, with Noon luncheons and a portrait presentation for Dr. Samuel W. Stevenson in Millhiser Gymnasium.

O'Brien to Star in All America Game in Atlanta
Richmond quarterback Buster O'Brien will play for the East in the All-America game on June 28 in Atlanta. He starred for the Spiders, led them to the Southern Conference title and a Tangerine Bowl win, and was named Player of the Year in the Atlantic Coast Region by Coach and Athletic magazines.
