Senior class leaders chosen in close class elections

On April 11 election results named Scott head of the Junior class, Stoneburner the Sophomores, and Wooten the Seniors. Independents held a slim edge over the Progres sives with several three cornered races and a new Board of Publications member Frank Alvis.

Westhampton College Glee Club Recital at Callao High

Westhampton College Glee Club directed by Mrs F Flaxington Harker presented a recital at Callao High School Auditorium on May 10 at 8 15. The program included twelve selections by the club three pieces by Barbette Stevenson mezzo soprano a solo by Mildred Harrell soprano and a piano piece by Helene Miller with Christine Duling as accompanist. Before the concert the group enjoyed community home hospitality.

Miss Elsie Nolan Appointed French Instructor at Oberlin

Miss Elsie Nolan formerly an instructor at the University of Richmond is named instructor in French at Oberlin College Oberlin Ohio. The appointment follows a meeting of the Oberlin College Trustees Executive Committee and will start in the fall term of 1987.

Richmond College Glee Club Concert Planned for Tomorrow

The Richmond College Glee Club presents its annual campus concert tomorrow at 8 00 P M in the Greek Theatre Curtis Haug president says the 35 voice group will feature four song groups a Spider quartet interlude of two negro spirituals and a second half with further selections including Cleopatra notes continue on page six.

Frat Council Proposes New Finance Plan

The Interfraternity Council finance committee led by Hudson Price proposes a new funding plan for next year. Each fraternity member returning in September and each new rushee would incur a $3 assessment for dance-set discounts, with a 10 percent penalty for late payments.

Senator Harry Flood Byrd will address the University of Richmond Convocation on Friday May 28 1937 under the auspices of the University of Richmond Social Science Society. He is known for efforts to reduce government spending and for Virginia governance reforms including highway development and constitutional revision.

Moore Elected ODK President In Epsilon Circle

Ralph Moore was elected president of the Epsilon circle of Omicron Delta Kappa at a meeting held last Tuesday afternoon. Richard Stoneburner became vice president, with W. I. Cayler reelected secretary and treasurer. New officers were installed by retiring president Fletcher Raiford. A junior committee was formed to study ending freshman hazing and simplifying rules, with amendments to be reviewed by the incoming sophomores.
