Five Virginia Colleges in Oratorial Contest Tonight
Five Virginia colleges and universities will be represented in the annual Virginia State Oratorial Contest at Cannon Memorial Chapel tonight at 8. Noah Fehl of the University of Richmond competes with his "Joyful Wisdom" after taking second last year. Other entrants include Oscar Wooldridge Jr of Randolph Macon and Walter R Godsey of Hampden Sydney with topics "A New Patriotism" and "The Forgotten Contribution Influence" respectively. Washington and Lee presents "A Tower Hag Fallen" and Emory and Henry has not yet been heard from. A bronze cup will go to tonight’s winner and a bronze plaque to the contestant’s institution. A meeting for participants and officers is at 4 in the Milhiser Gym trophy room.

Tempest Play Opens Commencement Week At Richmond
Richmond College Club announces tryouts for The Tempest to be staged June 12 at Luther Jenkins Greek Theatre. A campus musical festival May 21 features six glee clubs, two hundred voices, with City of Richmond events hosting Westhampton, Richmond College, William and Mary, and Apprentice School groups.

Absentee Voting Rules For Student Elections
Absentee students may cast ballots by handing them to a student government officer, preferably the secretary, by 3 pm on election day. The ballot must be signed by the voter. The Student Senate, which meets next Monday, may revoke this rule.
Three Classes Vote Tuesday For Officers
Richmond College Student Government reports class elections set for May 11 with forty four candidates. Freshman class nominates next year Sophomore officers Seabury Stoneburner Jack Noffsinger and William Kirby for President Bruce Van Buskirk George Stephenson and Bill Burge for Vice President.

First Tea Dance Hosted by Campus Government May 21
Richmond College and Westhampton College Governments team up for the first tea dance at Millhiser Gymnasium on May 21 from 4:00 to 6:30. Roy Dennis and his Richmond Collegians will provide the music. Admission costs 40 or 60 cents for stay or stay with a date.
