Richmond College Hosts Five Schools in 1A Track Meet
Today the stadium hosts a 1A track meet with five schools including Richmond College. Athletes from Randolph Macon Hampden Sydney William and Mary and Roanoke College enter full delegations. Coach Dobson calls the improved track one of the Souths best. The event closes Richmonds athletics for the session except inter class baseball games.

At Richmond College Auditorium five orators from Mu Sigma Rho and Philogian Societies faced an audience. Winner was P. Spratt of the Mu Sigs with The Heroes of Obscurity. J. R. Saunders took second on Patriotism and K. E B. Burke third on The League of Nations.

Richmond College defeated William and Mary 3 to 1 at Boulevard Park to seal the Eastern Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Association championship. Marty Carter delivered a decisive two-run double in the sixth as Hobbie Snead and Settle starred on defense and pitcher Driverites struggled to solve the Cadets.

Collegian Attends Intercollegiate Newspaper Meeting
Representatives from twenty eight East coast college newspapers met at Columbia University May 7 and 8. About sixty five delegates attended as guests of the Columbia Spectator and School of Journalism. Bruce Cook of the Collegian and Chas Leek of the Messenger represented Richmond College. The meeting aimed to organize an Intercollegiate Newspaper Association, the first since before the war.

Richmond College Wins State Oratorical Contest
Edward B. Willingham of Richmond College won the Virginia Intercollegiate Oratorical Association contest held May 7 in Richmond. The event featured five colleges from the seven member group with William and Mary and Roanoke missing. Willingham spoke on World-Wide Peace and earned the top prize.
