Joy Selby to Be Crowned May Queen at Westhampton Ball
Joy Selby ends her May Queen reign at Westhampton College tomorrow night with a ball in Keller Hall from 9 to 12. Newton Thomas and his orchestra provide music. The queen will be presented at 10 with court members: Mary Ann Coates maid of honor and a list of maids in waiting. The May Day events begin with a carnival at 2 and coronation at 3 50 in the Greek theatre, followed by the Royal Festival in the hockey field. If rain, festival moves to Keller Hall.

Mitchell Society Retains Title in Inter-Society Debates
The S. C. Mitchell Forensic Society defeated Philologian Society in the April 25 debate on ethical governance. Chaffin and Walters led the affirmative, while Drenios and Ezekiel topped scoring with 23 of 25 points. Mu Sigma Rho forfeited. Judges were Dr. Walter Snyder and George Jennings.

Hershey Announces New Tests For Selective Service
Major General Lewis B Hershey announced a new Selective Service College Qualification Test on May 22 at 1000 testing centers for students unable to take the December 13 1951 or April 24 1952 tests. Applicants with unused admission tickets must file anew, and tickets from old tests will not admit. Local boards provide application blanks and testing service is Princeton New Jersey. Applications postmarked after May 10 1952 will be rejected. Eligibility requires registrant status and intent to request student deferment. Continued on Page 4.

Frats Launch Help Week To Aid Camp Richmond Expansion
University of Richmond fraternities began a university wide Help Week with active and pledges aiding YMCA Camp Richmond near Hopewell. They cleared brush and logged wood after meeting at Jeter Hall daily at 1 15 p m. The project aims to expand the camp replacing Camp Orapax which burned last year. SEC chairman André Nielsen praised participants and noted the work will enable YMCA to enlarge Camp Richmond.

Clark PDE Proxy Doug Clark was elected president of Pi Delta Epsilon at its semi annual banquet at Ewart's Cafeteria. André Neilson was named vice president and Virginia LeSueur acting secretary. Jo Nettles was re elected secretary treasurer. Seven students and one honorary, John Colburn, joined as new initiates.

The InternationL Relations Club mock national elections on campus saw Dwight D. Eisenhower win the Republican nomination with 36 votes to Russell’s 19. Richmond and Westhampton Colleges backed Ike amid clashes over Taft, while the Democratic side split between Russell Kefauver and Byrd, with final balloting favoring Russell. Bob Alley faced impeachment for Democratic ties as party tensions rose.

Tug of War Pits Sigma Phi Epsilon and Phi Gamma Delta
Two campus fraternities Sigma Phi Epsilon and Phi Gamma Delta plan a 25 man tug of war across Westhampton Lake south end near Campus Drive on Friday May 9. The losers give a trophy to the winners and the victors must challenge another fraternity next year with hopes of an annual event. A joint party will follow at Hanover Wayside.

Final reading and casting for As You Like It set
The final reading and casting for Shakespeare's As You Like It will be held Monday at 7 30 in the Chapel. The production is planned for a fall presentation in the Greek Theater next year.
Richmond College Men Debut in Met Opera Aida
Approximately forty five Richmond College students made their operatic debut in the Metropolitan production of Aida. They appeared as soldiers, priests, and guards in the Egyptian scenes and endured a chaotic backstage scene before an orderly performance.
