University of Richmond Band Plays Be-Bop And Classics
The University of Richmond band presents its annual concert in the Greek Theater on the Westhampton College campus Saturday at 7 30 p m under Mark Troxell. The program blends be-bop with classical works and features solos by Dick Howard Thomas Armstrong Bob Parsons Bill Carter and Willie Guy with Gershwin Gould and Walters selections plus Leroy Anderson pieces. Tickets are 50 cents for students and 1.00 for adults.

The University of Richmond swept the State TKA Debate Tournament held May 2 3 at VPI to clinch the title. Rich mond claims first with Rex Adams top speaker 85 points and Ward Jones 81 percent, while Bridgewater trails and Emory and Henry secure the top negative. Rex Adams elected State Vice President next year and Tom Stark of VPI named President at the convention.

Officers for next year will be elected May 19 with two constitutional amendments up for vote.
