Westhampton College Mortar Board tapped nine junior women and two law school students plus one faculty member in Cannon Memorial Chapel. Ellen Largent named president-elect. other inductees include Barbara Beattie Barbara Covington Sarah Gene Hart Mary Lee Rankin and Peggy Wells with Mimi Thalenberg praised for scholarship leadership and service. Twelve Richmond College officers and senators at large were sworn in at Cannon Memorial Chapel. James Sease was sworn in as Student Government president elect after pledging impartial governance. New officers and senators will serve in 1949 and 50 alongside class senators to be elected May 3. A freshman class senator will be chosen in September.

The University debate team plans a Western trip during Spring Vacation highlighted by its first entry in the National Tau Kappa Alpha Tournament at Purdue University March 31 to April 2.
