Westhampton Juniors Promenade Enchanted Woodland Scene

The Westhampton College Junior Prom honoring the Class of 1950 will be held in Keller Hall with Moonlight Magic and Maurice Nunnally and his Townsmen providing music tomorrow. About 70 couples, led by Francis Chandler and Clarice Ryland, will form a W and 50 ring figure, receive their rings, then move to a private Chesterfield Country Club party. Tickets cost $2.00 and are sold by Virginia Brinson and the committee chairmen in the prom’s chaperoned setting with Dean Marguerite Roberts and Dean Marion Hamilton in attendance.

Alley Named Acting Chairman in Physics Department

Dr Robert E Alley physics professor was appointed acting chairman of the Physics Department to fill the teaching gap after the sudden death of Dr G L Albright last week. President Modlin announced he will serve until the end of the current semester. Emeritus Professor R B Loving will return to active teaching.

Bus Change Plans Hinted In Richmond Route Review

Definite plans for readjusting the WTC bus service to Richmond and Westhampton College have not been formulated. E M Wash of Virginia Transit Co says changes to the Westhampton Express route between Three Chopt Road and the campus terminal are possible after surfacing the old street car roadbed is completed.

Westhampton Eta Sigma Phi taps three for honors

The Westhampton College chapter of Eta Sigma Phi inducted Elizabeth Givens Anne Plunkett and Jane Slaughter in Cannon Memorial Chapel. The students are Latin majors and hold Dean's List status with roles in campus activities and clubs. Reverend Jack Noff singer delivered the address.

Greek Week Sets Gala Week From April 10

Norman Dods reports Greek Week begins April 10 with church services in Cannon Memorial Chapel and a week of events. The Olympics open Monday with interfraternity track, costumes, torches, and sections in main stands. A Grand Finale Costume Ball caps the week with prizes, a new cup for top participation, and statements from Basil Morrissett.

University dances off campus debated by trustees

Action may be taken today after a dance committee letter to the Board of Trustees executive committee requesting moving campus dances off campus. Don Fendler cites a consistent $481.50 loss for the first three dances and warns finals may be dropped if no action is taken.

Law School Man Honored by PDE TKA Recognizes 5

Seventeen University students were honored by Pi Delta Epsilon and Tau Kappa Alpha at Cannon Memorial Chapel.
