Major Letters Urged for Varsity Boxers by Monogram Group

The Varsity Club urged the Athletic Council to award major letters to the varsity boxing team for this season and minor letters to the golf team. It also proposed numerals for unsuccessful varsity man agers. The proposals await the council's decision and may involve sweater insignia.

ODK Plans April 7 Dance in Millhiser Gym

Omicron Delta Kappa announces a dance on Saturday April 7 from 9 to 12 in Roger Millhiser Gymnasium. Rogger Grant and Victor Chastain head preparations with Hi-Plane Pilots as the orchestra. Proceeds will go to the band for uniforms. tickets 50 cents through members.

Holidays Start Wednesday at University of Richmond

Spring holidays at the University of Richmond begin next Wednesday March 28 at 12 30 with classes resuming the following Wednesday April 4 at 9 30. Compulsory chapel exercises for April will be held on the first day after the holiday with Coach Thistlethwaite expected as main speaker.

Westhampton to Hold Bridge Party Saturday

Westhampton College senior class sponsors a card party in the Tea Room of the Jefferson Hotel from three to five to raise the remaining five hundred dollars for the annual. Helped by Edith McDanel and assistants, tickets cost fifty cents per person or two dollars per table.

Ridgway Named to Head YMCA

Charles E. S. Ridgway was elected Wednesday night to lead the Richmond College YMCA next year. Vernon Richardson, Roger Buck, and Vernon Kibler were chosen as vice president secretary and treasurer respectively. Close races followed for the nominated contenders Hunt Nenon Forrest Collier Sidney Matthews and Lamar Edwards. An informal reception at Mrs. R. B. Pinchbeck’s home honored Ridgway. The date of the first cabinet meeting will be announced later.

Senate Abolishes Student Senate Keys Policy

The Student Senate voted unanimously to abolish appropriations for student senate keys for the coming year saving about $600 annually. Members may obtain keys at their own expense in the future. The money saved will be redirected, with plans to be announced. Glee Club University Players Forensic Council YMCA are among groups benefiting from the general fund.

Miss Mary Virginia Stiff to Lead Westhampton May Day 1934

Harmony Village Virginia resident Miss Mary Virginia Stiff was named May Day leader for Westhampton's 1934 celebration announced by College Government officials. Opponents Miss Eleanor Hardaway and Miss Grace Rowland of Richmond will be maids of honor. The event, likely the first Saturday in May, will feature a Greek Theatre pageant directed by Miss Carolina Lutz and Miss Betty Burns with many Westhampton students taking parts.

Student vote on University of Richmond nickname change

Collegians vote to decide whether to drop Spiders as a team nickname and select a new name. Proposals include Rebels Col onels and Confederates, with ballots at the Student Shop and Administration Building due by March 27 as spring holidays begin.

Students may apply for Editor Managing Editor or Business Manager roles in The Collegian and for Editor or Business Manager of The Web. Applications must be written and submitted to Dr. L. H. Walton President of the Board of Publications at 5818 York Road by noon next Tuesday March 27.

Athletic Association to Sponsor Dance Tomorrow Night

The Athletic Association will sponsor a dance in the Westhampton Room from 9 to 12. The Hi Pilots orchestra will play with Jaquelin Johnston and a line of Athletic Board members as hostesses. Tickets are 50 cents for stages and 75 cents for dates. Red and blue streamers will mark the W monogram wearers. Mary Mills, newly elected president, will be in the receiving line.
