Dr Boatwright launches $500000 university drive
President Boatwright announced a campaign to raise 500000 to fund endowments, new buildings, equipment and scholarships at the university. Three-fifths funds a central library. 200000 finances a gym and activities building at Westhampton College with lounges, cafeteria, and offices. The gym is nearing completion for next semester as alumni and students support the effort. He outlined three campaign regions and urged alumni and Richmond residents to back the drive on WRVA radio.
