Junior Jollies Five Act Affair at Red Cross Building

Subjects of interest slated for Monday debates

Two debates of interest will occur next Monday night in the Literary Societies. The Philologians debate whether Judge Ben Lindsay's theory of companionate marriage is practicable, while Mu Sige argues that dancing should be allowed on the Richmond College campus.

Constitution Unanimously Passed by Student Body

The revised constitution of the Student Government Association was approved last Friday after weeks of discussion. It preserves most provisions but adds senior class eligibility for editorships and removes a harsh line from the Honor Code. The new document takes effect immediately.

The Little Symphony Orchestra of the University of Richmond is being reorganized under I. M. Crawford after a first practice held last Tuesday. Rutgers Richmond Debate Foreign Capital War Rebuttal

Rutgers University will suspend classes next Wednesday at 11:00 for a debate in the Chapel building. W. S. Norman and H. M. Richmond College Tryouts Set For April 2 In Chapel

Tryouts to select a representative for the Virginia State Oratorical Contest will be held Monday afternoon April 2 at 3 00 PM in the Chapel building. Faculty judges will select the contestant and nine Virginia colleges will compete May 4 at the local campus. Students urged to prepare citations after spring vacation.

Clark a University special student and D R Mann a Richmond College sophomore won first and second prizes in Sigma Upsilon Writers Chapter annual short story contest. Harlequin Club Sets March 24 Dance and Elections

Richmond College Harlequin Club members met last Monday to plan a March 24 social at the University Club and to discuss electing local members. President M. S. Shockley says the club promotes social activities with Westhampton College and allows escorts only from Westhampton, making the events closed. Formal invitations will be mailed next week.

Phi Alpha Leads Scholarship Race Among Fraternities

Official reports to the Interfraternity Council show Phi Alpha leading the race for the scholarship cup. First semester averages determine half the judging weight as third term grades from last year are excluded. Top ten averages list Pi Alpha 85.61 percent, Lambda Chi Alpha 84.00 percent.

Hopewell Bible Class Essay Contest on College Education

The Berean Bible Class of the First Baptist Church of Hopewell sponsors an essay contest on the value of a college education open to Richmond students. Prizes include an educational tour in July 1928 from important northern cities to Toronto.
