Campaign for RIC Members Progressing in Richmond
The Richmond chapter of the Inter-collegiate Council for active members began February 16 at nine colleges in the city plus the General Assembly's Training School. Russell Jones outlined the goal to foster closer understanding among local students and especially between races to address Virginia student problems. By February 17 about 200 members were enrolled, 104 from Virginia Union and 40 from Hampton, with 18 from Richmond College.

Rankin Speaks At Convocation
Dr. M. K. Rankin addressed Westhampton and Richmond students on Baptists in World Missions. Born in 1894 South Carolina, he studied at Furman Wake Forest and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as missionary in Canton China, led Graves Seminary, became Orient secretary, and was imprisoned by the Japanese before arriving in 1942 aboard the Gripsholm.

Westhampton College plans weekly vesper talks through the term. On March 4 Dr. Carey Montague of Holy Comforter Episcopal Church spoke as the Glee Club sang. March 12 will feature Professor Gaines and March 27 will host the University Choir performing Gallia by Gounod.

Lost Richmond College track medal traced to global voyage
A weathered 1909 Richmond College indoor track relay medal, once worn on a watch fob, traveled from Richmond College to Constantinople to China and back to the United States. It sits in a university president’s office as attempts to identify the owner continue, with Dr Arthur Langford of Baltimore a probable claimant.

Three UR Students Voted Into Society
At a Virginia Section meeting three University of Richmond students James T. Hatcher William J. Bryan Jy and Thomas EB Zara were elected Associate Members of the American Chemical Society Virginia Section. The section numbers about eighteen thousand national members and holds about ten meetings yearly in Richmond with guest speakers on chemistry topics.
