Intercollegiate Council seeks active Richmond members
The Richmond chapter of the Intercollegiate Council opens an active membership drive February 16 for Virginia Union University Richmond Professional Institute YMCA YWCA Richmond College Westhampton Medical College of Virginia colored and white nurses and Union Theological Seminary. The council aims to foster understanding among white and colored students and study postwar social and political issues through public meetings forums radio speeches and sports events. Membership costs twenty five cents yearly with cards from Melvin Bradshaw on the RG campus. The next public meeting is March 16 at 8 pm at an undetermined location.

University Band Reorganized Plans Joint Glee Club Concert

Spanish Heads Plan For Inter-American Institute On Campus
On April seven and eight the Westhampton College campus hosts an Inter American Affairs Institute. The event, backed by the Division of Inter American Educational Relations of the U S Office of Education and Virginia’s Spanish teachers, includes discussions on Literary Spanish America Indian Civilizations Brazil and Latin American History. The University of Richmond War Council announces a campus bond and stamp drive by fraternities beginning February 21 and running to semester end. Each fraternity designates a sales rep for two weeks. non fraternity students join in two alphabetical groups.

First Alumnae Tea At Westhampton College
The Alumnae Association of Westhampton College held the first in a series of teas on Sunday February 18 in the Student Activities Building. Miss Martha Elliot presided in secretary Mrs Booker’s absence, welcoming alumnae from classes 1980 through 1940. Gene Shepard of the senior class shared wartime campus changes with humor, and Carolyn Williams sang two numbers with pianist Nancy Grey Lazenby providing accompaniment.

University Players Plan Campus Reception and Spring Shows
