Debating Program Outlined by University of Richmond Forensic Council
The Debating and Forensic Council of the University of Richmond announces a new series of debates led by secretary William N. Beechler. The first event pits Westhampton against Richmond College on January 27 to consider whether all students should pass psychological tests for admission. Richmond College will be represented by Hillis Miller and Warren G. Keith. A February 10 debate with Lynchburg College will ask if Virginia needs a new constitution, with Warren McNeil and John Tarrant as Richmond College speakers.

Popular Student Suffers Operation During Holidays
W. R. Carner a senior and noted ministerial student from near Spotsylvania Court House was treated in a Fredericksburg hospital for peritonitis over Christmas. He recovered enough to be on the road to recovery and not expected back at college for weeks. Carner is the Spottsylvania County sheriff's son and was traveling through Fredericksburg when acute appendicitis struck.

Freshman Goodman Undergoes Appendiis Operation
Freshman Goodman of Newport News Virginia was operated on during the holidays for appendicitis. He is recovering well and expects to return to the University by February 1. He trained at Fork Union Military Academy.

Student hunter shot in eye returns to university
Frank Laprade, a sophomore at the university, was accidentally shot in the left eye on December 27 during a hunting trip in Pittsylvania County with his brother and a friend. Eyeball removed hours later at a Lynchburg hospital by Dr. Morrison. He has now returned to campus and is recovering. He prepared at Chatham Training School and is studying for a medical degree.
