Dr Rolvix Harlan head of sociology will represent the University of Richmond at the Southern Baptist Convention organized class conference in Atlanta Georgia January 15 to 17. The event brings ministers professors and readers together to improve religious education and Christian outreach through lectures and discussions.

Student Volunteers Shine At Indianapolis Convention
The Student Volunteer Movement held its ninth quadrennial convention in Indianapolis from December 28 to January 1. More than 5,500 students from major colleges and universities in the United States and Canada attended. 2 C Grigg and W C Atkins represented the University of Richmond. Established in 1888 by R Spear R P Wilder and John R Mott to promote foreign missions, the gathering featured global leaders and calls for the League of Nations and World Court of International Justice as war prevention. Atkins fell ill with appendicitis and was operated on January 1 at Methodist Hospital. he is recovering and expected back by January 15.

H L Riley of the University fell ill while at the Phi Kappa Sigma Convention in New York and left for South Carolina. The attending physician cannot locate the illness source, and he is expected to return to school within days.

Derby Hat Becomes Richmond College Junior Emblem
The junior class at Richmond College will wear derby hats during chapel and at an oyster roast by the lake tonight. Each member bought a derby and plans say the custom may be adopted by future classes.

Freshmen Celebrate First Birthday in Red Cross Building
The class of 1927 marked its first birthday Saturday evening in the Red Cross Building. Most of the class attended and contributed to a cabaret themed party in red and white. Mary Martin and Sibyl Harmon opened the program with a Spanish tango before a light and crystal display featuring Lacey Williams as the medium Madame Dowsky.
