Westhampton Senior Class Christmas Co ed Dance

The Westhampton Senior Class hosts a Christmas co ed dance and supper at 9 p.m. in the new Social Activities Building with Bill Aikens and his orchestra providing music. Tickets cost 60 cents for stag and 85 cents with date. festivities include a buffet supper at 8 p.m. and a reception with a decorated tree.

Annual Cuts Page Prices In 1988 Yearbook Rates

Hunter Keck, business manager of the year book, announced substantial price cuts for organization representation in the 1988 Web. New rates are 10 dollars for a half page 18 dollars for a full page and 28 dollars for two full pages, down from 12 50 20 and 35 respectively. Clyde Hardy, editor, promises one of the finest year books and urges students with proofs due to submit before the holidays.

Westhampton Freshmen Debate Fraternity Pins Engagements

A survey by a one man committee at Westhampton finds most freshmen view wearing a frat pin as not equating to engagement. About 76 percent answered No while two thought pins equal engagement. Some said the pin’s meaning depends on giver and recipient.

Richmond Law Dean Named Head of Virginia Young Democrats Panel

Dean M. Ray Doubles of the University of Richmond Law School was named chairman of a five member Young Democratic Clubs of Virginia committee to study changes to the Virginia capitation tax law. Members include Charles R. Penwick Mrs John Marshall Daniel Weymouth and Robert L. Anderson. Hearings will be held and reports due 80 days before the August 1938 convention.

Pound To Address Phi Beta Dinner In Richmond

Interfraternity Council Probes Rushing Attitudes at Richmond

The Interfraternity Council formed a committee at its December 13 meeting led by Hunter Keck to gauge fraternity views on delayed rushing. Dr. Herman P. Thomas, who attended the National Interfraternity Conference in New York on November 26-27, reported on discussions and proposed reforms. He noted a shift toward a C average for initiation and urged stronger cooperation among social groups, faculty, and administration.

PDE Sponsors Short Story Prize At Richmond and Westhampton Colleges

The University chapter of Pi Delta Epsilon announces a Prize Short Story Contest for all students at Richmond and Westhampton Colleges except PDE members and Messenger staff. Stories must be 2500 to 7500 words, due March 15, 1988, at the Messenger office. The winning tale will appear in the April Messenger.
