The Westhampton College Debate Council met on a Tuesday evening to discuss formal debates with Geneva College February 21 New York University March 14 and Nedg ewater College April all teams to visit for clashes. The group endorsed Japan policy in Manchuria as a likely debate resolution and reviewed the Lytton Report with plans for an informal debate next time. Attendance rules were set two consecutive absences ban a member from the club. The January 4 meeting was scheduled with plans to host visiting teams. Students Will Hear Messiah Selections at Richmond
The University of Richmond offers a Sunday afternoon program at four o'clock featuring selections from the Messiah. The annual event replaces vesper prayers and includes the processional Adeste Fideles and pieces such as Glory to God in the Highest Lift Up Your Heads and Hallelujah Chorus sung by four Richmond soloists Mrs Reinhardt Phillip Whitfield Joseph Whittemore and Helen Travis.

Westhampton Athletic Association held a meeting on Wednesday to award tennis and hockey numerals. Tennis honors went to Marejorte Canada, Marydee Lowe, Jackie Lowe, and Marjorie Pugh who earned her first numeral. hockey numerals were awarded to multiple sophomores juniors and seniors including J Neale M Rowlett and Clarke. The group discussed hosting the Virginia Hockey Association next fall and the student body supported Westhampton College hosting.

McElroy Sees England and U S Nearing Same Education Goal
Dr Robert McElroy spoke after the Can non Memorial Chapel convocation saying England and the United States are approaching identical educational aims. He noted England concentrates on leaders while America educates the masses, and cited his work on Jefferson Davis and a life in letters spanning several countries. He chairs an Oxford history program and has written Winning of the Far West and a Grover Cleveland biography. The Oxford students favor studying in the United States and share admiration for American methods. The talk reflected a shared trend toward similar teaching ideals in both nations.

French Pageant Presented at Westhampton Christmas Dinner
Westhampton College students staged a fourteenth century French satirical play during the Christmas dinner on December 20.
