Literary Fraternity Plans Short Story Contest
Sigma Upsilon launches its annual short story contest open to Westhampton and Richmond College students except current members. Entries run until February 15, 1928, with prizes and publication in The Messenger. Judges include Dr. C T Goode Dr. H B Handy and Miss Lutz with current writers’ club members assisting. Manuscripts must be nom de plume only in sealed envelopes.

Philologian Society elects W. S. Norman president Winter term
W. S. Norman wins a tight vote to lead the Philologian Literary Society for the Winter term. Officers named include T. P. Reynolds as vice president and P. L. Bromleigh as secretary. A Spring term president was elected later, and a mock trial on divorce and desertion followed in the program.

Roland Robins Roy Jackson Leroy Crenshaw Tom Saunders and Loftus Walton were elected to the University of Richmond German Club at the Monday meeting. Raymond Wilkinson announced the next social will be the first Friday in February at the Jefferson Hotel with Kay Kaiser's Orchestra likely to provide music. The club sponsors most local camp socials and elections occur twice yearly with juniors and seniors chosen in fall and sophomores becoming eligible in spring.

Richmond College 1928 Web photo work completed except basketball images
The 1928 Richmond College annual photo work is finished except for basketball pictures and refits to be done when White Studio photographer Balder returns in February. A month was spent on individual and campus view photos sent to the printer for the view section. Emanuel Emroch promises a unique section. John Siegel and Kenneth Weaver are named sports and art editors. Proofs return after Christmas holidays. White Studio will bring proofs for ordering photos.

Omicron Delta Kappa Initiation Tonight at Rueger Hotel
Omicron Delta Kappa will hold its formal initiation and banquet tonight at 6:00 at the Rueger Hotel. Joseph Sadler presides as chapter president and Dean W. L. Prince national president will deliver an address to initiates. Nine men from Virginia and North Carolina were elected in the fall to join the national honorary fraternity.

Juniors Entertain Seniors At Dance
The Junior-Senior Prom at the University Club drew strong praise from committees and students. The hall was decorated in University colors and the Chesterfield Hills Country Club orchestra played fine music. Westhampton girls attended as the new tradition aims to occur annually or semi annually with plans for non dancers to join in future events.
