Club to review League of Nations at Y building

International Relations Club plans a year end review of the League of Nations next Tuesday at 7 P M in the Y building. Perry Stubbs H G Reynolds and C R Stevens lead the discussion with a round table to follow. The club aims to spark interest in international affairs and foster relations. Sigma Upsilon Guest of Girls Writers Club

The Westhampton Writers Club hosted Sigma Upsilon Monday afternoon with a buffet. Members read outstanding works as the Literati of the University gathered at 4:30 for an evening of intelligent conversation and a substantial buffet supper.

Christmas Seals On Sale At Student Shop

Christmas seals for 1927 are now on sale at the Student Shop under Mrs. W. A. Harris who heads the campaign this year. Buyers are urged to purchase here so the University earns credit for all student purchases. Many seals have already appeared on local letters, bought in Richmond, with local distribution encouraged.

Virginia State Oratorical Contest Plans Under Way

State Orators Will Vie Here as the Virginia State Oratorical Association refines plans for the annual contest on the local campus during the second semester. Representatives from nine colleges will participate with University of Richmond entrants urged to notify Norma promptly.

Girls are Working On Christmas Carols at Westhampton College

Mrs. F. Flaxington Harker directs weekly Christmas carol practice in Westhampton College drawing room. All interested learn old French and English carols. Each year a group visits the Old Ladies Home to sing, and on the last Sunday before vacation the college is awakened by hymns. Carols will be sung at the final outdoor Vesper service.

Mu Sigs Set Humorous Evening At Meeting

The Mu Sigma Rho Literary Society plans a humorous program for members and guests next Monday. The feature is a debate on if it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all with Hepler and Fitzgerald for the affirmative and Nettles and Booker for the negative. A humorous reading by Ross and a declamation by Stubbs precede the debate, kincheloe will speak on The True Christmas Spirit.

Junior Senior Prom to be Held Tonight at University Club

An unusual city of Richmond event unites the junior and senior classes for a joint prom at the University Club. The December 9 affair runs from nine in the evening to one o'clock in the morning with Class of 28 guests of third year men. The committee hopes this will start a tradition of annual junior and senior class celebrations.

Four University Players Honor New Members

Helen Bowman Wilbur Sheriff Arthur Harrison and R D Bates were elected to University Players at a Monday night meeting. They were recognized for work in dramatic productions this year especially in The Merchant of Venice where Harrison played Bassanio Bates Tubal and Sheriff and Bowman contributed musically.

Debating Council Sets Jan 11 Tryouts For Southern Contest

Emanuel En roch announces preliminary try outs on January 11 for the Southern debating contest to be held early next semester. The topic states The United States Should Not Use Armed Force to Protect Interests in Foreign Countries Except After a Formal Declaration of War. Philologians Name Officers and Trial Set Next Monday

The Philologian Literary Society will meet at 7 15 p m in Room A on Monday December 12 to elect officers for the second period and discuss a three term system. A mock trial follows with defendant P E Taylor and plaintiff his wife as parties in a divorce suit seeking fifty thousand dollars alimony amid alleged extraordinary cruelty and abandonment.

Westhampton Students Form Spanish Club at College

Advanced Spanish students at Westhampton College formed a Spanish Club. The first meeting was chaired by Miss Katherine Riding and elected Miss Margaret Rudd as President. A second meeting on November 28 selected the club name El Picaro.

Glee Club Singers to Perform in Fife Tomorrow

The Spider Chanters Richmond College Glee Club will give a program at Broad Street Methodist Church in Fife Goochland County Vai tomorrow at 8:00 P M. A bus will transport the group from the local campus tomorrow afternoon returning after the program.

Seven Men Initiated Into Monogram Club at Campus Meeting

The varsity club held its first meeting of the semester in the Gymnasium trophy room. Five football lettermen joined the club along with R H Decker and Tom Saunders, managers of football and basketball. A discussion on the Spider Frolics was held and a date planned for early February. Refreshments followed in honor of the new initiates Metcalf Gunter Decker Landrum Anderson and the two managers. Mark Andrews earned a letter but will wait to be initiated after Christmas due to illness.

Miss Oger Entertained by Students of French

Miss Helene Covey hosted advanced French students in the drawing room on a Wednesday in November. Miss Oger of the John Marshall French Department served as Bucsis of Honor and entertained the listeners with humorous anecdotes. Refreshments followed.
