Spring Play “A Pair of Sixes” staged next Friday

Rehearsals are under way for Edward Peple's comedy A Pair of Sixes to be presented Friday evening April 15 in the Red Cross Building by the University Players. The story, familiar as Queen High on screen, follows two partners in a munitions business who split a poker bet, forcing the loser to be the other's servant for a year.

Install New Student Government Officials Monday

Rich mond College student government officials for next year were installed Monday at 12 o clock in the Y M C A building before a small student body. Russ Whalen, president, opened with remarks noting past non existence due to lack of a compulsory budget fee. He praised Pi Delta Epsilon and others for promoting a seven dollar compulsory fee for next year.

Varsity Debate Team Wins All Engagements

Westhampton College freshmen Helen Caulifield and Elizabeth Cannon upheld the affirmative as Intermont defeated them on the topic Congress Should Enact Legislation Controlling Industry. The team schedules two more debates on April 11 and April 16.

Ralph H. Ferrell Elected Y M C A president at Richmond College

Ralph H. Ferrell, a junior class member and active Y M C A participant since University of Richmond matriculation, was elected president of the Richmond College Y M C A at a March 17 meeting. Ed White became vice president, Stuart Cooke secretary, and Richard C. Poage treasurer. editor role noted continuing on page 2.

Mortar Board Chapter Announces Elections Next Monday

The Mortar Board active chapter will announce elections in Westhampton Assembly at 12 o'clock Monday morning. Dr Grace Landrum dean of women at William and Mary College and former Westhampton English professor will give addresses along with Dea Kneller. Members are Juniors with outstanding service scholarship and leadership. All Juniors should attend to sit in after the tapping ceremony.

Easter Dances Prove Two of Season's Best

The pre Easter dances at Millhiser Gymnasium on March 18 and 19 drew large crowds of students alumni and visitors from schools across the state. Ben Hurley directed a colorful scene with black and white trim colored lights and shadows. Mike Kent's Richmond Collegians provided music with novelty numbers and the popular Victory Swing drawing praise and future audition requests. The Interfraternity Council sponsored Friday night and the Junior and Senior classes sponsored Saturday night.

Richmond Debaters Win Victory Over Davidson

The Richmond College debating team defeated Davidson 3 to 0 after a series of close defeats. Dodd and Stuart Cook defended the negative on the Centralized Control of Industry resolution, while Mc Keith and Powell represented Davidson.

Mildred Alexander and Frances Rawlings were unanimously elected president of the College Government Association and chairwoman of the Judiciary Board at Westhampton student elections held April 4 and 6. Siebert named Y W C A president. she has served on the freshman commission and as secretary treasurer.

Varsity Club Promotes April Dance at Richmond Gym

The University of Richmond Varsity Club sponsors a dance at Millhiser Gymnasium on April 16 from 8:30 to 12. The Virginians eleven piece orchestra will provide music. Admission is 75 cents in advance or 1.00 at the door with tickets through club members. The event follows a varsity baseball game against Virginia, whose players will attend.
