Senate Praises Ralph Mayo For Mayo Commission Response

The Richmond College Senate approved a motion to send a letter of commendation to Ralph Mayo for addressing seven Mayo Commission requests on College Shop facilities and services. Six of seven requests were accepted including longer hours and updated painting and service.

Richmond Board to Meet Next Week on Editorial Staff

The University of Richmond Board of Publications will meet sometime next week to select editors and staff for the Web and ConnorAn staffs. Dr Charles H Wheeler IIT secretary treasurer said the date and candidates are not yet announced. Selected members will work with current staff in spring and assume posts in August.

Fewer Blacks At Richmond Enrollment Hit by Regional Trend

Richmond College dean of admissions Thomas N. Pollard Jr says the incoming freshmen class next fall will have fewer Black students, reflecting a regional trend in predominantly White colleges. He cites article from Times-Dispatch noting image, incidents, and lack of Black leaders as factors while stressing no reflection on the college. Slightly less than half of the class of ’76 have confirmed acceptance.

Students May File Petitions For April 25 Class Elections

Students may submit petitions from April 11 to April 18 to Bob Brizendine director of elections or to assistant director Tom Givens. Brizendine lives Freeman A-308 and Givens Freeman A-310. Campaigning runs April 18 to 25 and students are urged to sign up with Brizendine or Givens to work at the polls.
