W C T U Holds State Convention in Shenandoah
The state convention of the Women's Christian Temperance Union met in Shenandoah on October 25 with about 500 delegates. The Allegiance to the Constitution parade featured delegates in white with floats and school children. Boyden's WCTU won a silk flag for doubling membership during the year.

Acting Governor John Hammill proclaims Fire Prevention Week in Iowa from October 7 to 13 urging attention to heating appliances chimneys and wiring and to make winter safety repairs.
