The Citizenship Club will gather October 5 at the town hall. The agenda includes Club Song, immigration discussion, property and Community Recreation, a new plan for character education, and a round table on the club constitution.
Dr. J. W. Stehouwer, a graduate veterinarian, has decided to locate in Boyden and has moved his office above the Boyden Hardware Co. He can be reached at any time by calling the central telephone. He comes from Hull where he has practiced seven months and formerly spent eight years at Prarie City, Iowa. He is married with a family and plans to move them here. He speaks English and Holland. The community is urged to support a local veterinarian to help keep Boyden on the map. Mr. and Mrs. Wangowsky returned to Boyden last Saturday after their wedding tour and are now settled in the Bert Smit cotage. The editor notes the marriage of his brother in Sheldon last Friday evening to a groom employed at White House Clothing Co. and a bride who teaches in the George community. They are honeymooning in Minneapolis and other points. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Dockendorf of Madison, S. D.
The Boyden Holstein Association will publicly auction 60 registered cattle at the Sheldon Sales Pavilion next Wednesday. Seven bulls and 53 cows, tuberculin tested with a 60 90 day retest guarantee, sourced from leading dairy herds and advertised as money makers for thrifty farmers.
The undersigned will sell to the highest bidder on Saturday October 20 at 2 pm a residence 26 by 26 feet with full basement furnace parlor dining room kitchen and three bedrooms plus attic storage on a 50 by 150 foot lot with garage cistern and more. May Dale asks for a decree of divorce from Ray Dale on grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment. They married in 1906 and lived together 17 years. Other items include promissory notes, executions, and a marriage license for Henry Miller and Elizabeth Schwartz. Public notices mention a prize offer for bread wrappers by Home Bakery and Restaurant in Boyden, Iowa.
