Norman W. Bell announces Dwight Vander Haar joins the Boyden Reporter Office from Bowman Job Printing Shop Spencer. Vander Haar specializes in job work and returns to help better serve the community during National Newspaper Week.
The Sioux County Health Improvement Association launched a county wide Blue Cross membership drive at a 7:30 p m kick off dinner in Orange City with about 70 attendees. Albert Ramaker led the meeting as president and enrollment runs through Oct 15 at listed Orange City and area offices, with April 1948 the next enrollment window.
Mr and Mrs H R Meester and Marian were supper guests in Floyd Getting home at Matlock Sunday. Mr and Mrs Gerhard Scholten called on Mrs Bill Brouwer of Holy Springs who is a patient in a Sioux City Hospital. Connie Vander Burgh and family of Sheldon were Sunday dinner guests in the parental Paul Schreuder home. Re Kamminga and spouse left for Salem Oregon to spend a few weeks with son Henry Kamminga and family.
Mr and Mrs Bob Boonstra of Orange City welcomed a son named Robert Dick born Monday Sept 29 at Grossman Hospital weighing 9 pounds 3 ounces. Mrs Boonstra is Myrna Mae Moret. Mr and Mrs Ray Bridge of Sioux Falls welcomed a daughter named Candace Ann born Tuesday Sept 28 weighing 7 pounds 6 ounces. Mrs Bridge is Orva Jenssen, daughter of Mr and Mrs Naso Janssen.
