Boyden Hull opened the basketball season with a 57 to 50 win over Western Christian. Allen Brouwer led scorers with 18 points while De Jong topped Western with 17. The Boyden Hull seconds defeated Western 62 to 20. The team travels to Granville on Friday November 25 then hosts Orange City on Tuesday November 29 with Norman Van Sloten unavailable due to a state music program.

The Lincoln Township Farm Bureau Women’s Group met at the home of Mrs. Richard Kuipers Friday. Mrs. Wm Riphagen led the business meeting and devotionals. Hull Christian Reformed Church held its annual meeting with over 150 members in attendance. The session extended a call to Rev Henry Expo of Sheboygan Wisconsin and elected Gerrit Grevengoed Henry Raman and Doores Waanders as elders, with retiring elders named. Deacon nominees Gerald Kroese and Wm Van Wyhe will replace John Velgersdyk and Adolph Bylsma. The group rejected buying additional property for a new church site and approved the 1961 budget. Rev Vander Plate of Bethel CRC Sioux Center served as Moderator in the pastor’s absence.

State Conservation Commission reports hunting has been fair to excellent for pheasants depending on corn supply.
