Cliff Vander Wilt, local Boy Scout finance chairman, announced today that 120.50 has been raised in Boyden in the recent fund drive conducted in NW Iowa on behalf of the Boy Scouts. A special thank you is extended to all who made this drive the success that it was.
The Home Mission Circle will hold its annual thank offering program Friday at 8 00 P M in the church parlors. All couples of the church are welcome and members may bring guests. The Rev and Mrs George Gosselink missionaries to Arabia will be present to discuss their work and show slides.
Boyden held an uncontested election with only a few write in votes. Sixty nine residents cast ballots, re-electing all incumbents to their offices.

The Boyden Independent School district proposes a five section re organization in Sioux County to create an efficient larger district. It aims to lower taxes for most areas, add buses and staff, improve curriculums, and maintain small class attention. Signatures from one third of residents in each township are required to advance.
Bill Kwikkel a rural mail carrier for 34 years keeps his 1940 Chevrolet running with heavy daily use on sea ice. He notes 100 stops per day plus 300 gear shifts wear a clutch yearly and tires last about two years, while major components remain original.
The Boyden Commercial Club also called the Town and Country Club will meet Monday evening in Town Hall at 8:00 to elect officers.

Mrs. Chester Sitter and Mrs. Chester Vander Weerd hosted Karen Sitter’s third birthday on Wednesday evening. A two course luncheon followed a social gathering with guests from Sioux Center Harrisburg South Dakota Sioux Falls Rock Valley and family friends including Mr and Mrs Gary Verrips and children and Mr and Mrs Leon Cady.
Mr and Mrs Joe C Klenhesselink announce a seven pound thirteen ounce boy born November 1 at Grossman hospital Orange City named Charles Joel. Mr and Mrs Roy Riemers welcome their first child a son born November 4 at Sheldon hospital weighing seven and a half pounds named Ronald Lee Roy.
Sick Mrs. Jerry De Raad, formerly in Sheldon, moved Sunday to the state hospital in Iowa City for additional treatment. Address listed as Mrs. Elizabeth De Raad University Hospital Iowa City Iowa. Lawrence Korthals is improving and able to receive visitors.
