Hull visitors faced Boyden Tuesday evening in a Kitten ball contest. Boyden won 17 to 16 in a close game described as real sport. The game uses a soft ball and small bat with no gloves, and a smaller diamond than baseball. A return match with Hull is planned soon.
Measles flood Boyden with many patients listed by name. Among the ill are the Herman Maaten children Jessie De Boer Henry Boelsma Korthals children Thos De Groot Bodewitz children Slothonber child ren and the Vander Bosch infant with many others unnamed. Sioux County Board of Supervisors voted to submit a $1,600,000 bond issue to voters to pay for the entire primary road system. The election is set for Monday, June 6.

Miss Marion Baltou of Des Moines visited the Mr and Mrs Herbert Dean home last week while pursuing a nurse training course in Des Moines. The Senior Class Play The New Co ed presented Wednesday evening drew a large crowd as all roles were well performed.
Congressman W. D. Boies of Shelbyville has said he will retire when his current term ends in 1928 due to poor health. He was elected to the 11th District for the fifth time and will be 72 at retirement. He is at Hot Springs for treatment as several others enter the 1928 race.
The Christian School of Boyden closes for summer vacation on Friday May 27 after a year led by Prof. Benj R De Jong and with Rev Clow of Inwood as speaker. Three eighth grade graduates Jessie De Boer Jeanette De Jong and Harold De Valois plan to enter high school next year. A program with refreshments follows the closing. The Reporter notes a busy year with staff Jeannette Dykstra and Hazel Spencer.
The 1927 Goodfellowship Tour of the Sioux City Chamber of Commerce will arrive in Boyden by C M & St P Ry at 12 56 PM on Thursday May 26. The 13 car train will be joined by over 125 accompanying riders. The event includes Monohan Post band and Drum Corps with balloons and candy for children.
A May 10 1927 wedding at the Mischke home in Cons ton Nebraska joined Myrtle Edith Mischke to Gerrit Vander Horst of Sioux City. Rev Dexheimer officiated with Lohengrin music and a peach and Nile green decor. The couple planned a honeymoon trip ending in Los Angeles with Vander Horst a native of Boyden.
