Sioux County Bankers Meet in Orange City
Fourteen members of the Sioux County Bankers Association gathered in Orange City last Saturday. They endorsed M D Gibbs for president of the Iowa Bankers Association and proposed deducting Liberty Bonds from assessments. Banks set a minimum $250 charge for the first hour and $2.50 for each additional hour for income tax returns. All county banks belong to the association. Local travelers return and wounded sailor hospital bound

Runaway Cultivator Trims Monroe Man in Narrow Escape
Elmer Goodyear of Monroe Saturday fixed a shoulder and loaded immigrant goods for Bancroft when a team hitched to a double row cultivator began moving. He attempted to stop them, grabbed the lines, and was dragged as the cultivator ran away. He escaped serious injury though likely to be laid up a month. The team struck a tree, halting further damage.

Albert Steven Dies After Illness in City
Albert Steven, longtime resident with the Joe Ste ven family, died last Saturday from influenza complications leading to pneumonia. Born in Gibranin Syria, he was 52. He leaves a wife, two daughters, and a son plus other relatives. Body sent to Sioux City for interment. Mr Steven had been in the country about nine years.
